Exploding Photo Album

This is the Christmas gift I've made my Mum this year, it's super easy to make and doesn't require a lot of materials either!

You will need:
  • multiple sheets of patterned paper.
  • card or cardstock
  • scissors or a craft knife
  • PVA or any form of liquid glue
  • hair grips/paper clips
  • photos
  • scoring tool
For all measurements see templates at the bottom of this post.
The first step is to cut out the 'crosses' in the card, then using a scoring tool (or just bending the card carefully like I did because I couldn't find mine!) score the card to make it easier to bend the card.

Then cut out the larger side's squares and stick them to the outside pages.

Continue the cutting and sticking of the paper until all 'crosses' and covered. Then you stick the smallest of to the medium sized cross, and the medium on to the largest.

Then we make the lid. You will need to score the grid first, then turn the card over and score the diagonal corner parts then slightly bend to slowly gain the shape.

You will then need to stick the lid to keep it in place, whilst the glue is drying use hair grips or paper clips to keep the card in place.

Then  add on your photos, any captions or other items into the album.

Once it is done it should look like this:

Here are a few templates I made to cut out the squares, crosses and the lid feel free to use them:
